Projects
49:22trust provides financial and moral support to organisations that carry out practical projects involved in:
- Educating the Gentile world
- Affirming the Jewish Identity
- Aliyah

Project: 49:22trust
The Israel-focus of the work that 49:22trust promotes and supports is neither widely nor clearly understood by many people in the Gentile world, nor is it understood by much of the Christian Church. One of the primary objectives of 49:22trust is therefore to proclaim the truths and stand against the falsehoods of the matter clearly, and to supplement current understandings in the face of rising antisemitism.
It is very important that the Christian world increasingly awakes to the significance of the biblical mandate for assisting with Aliyah (e.g. Isaiah 49), and the importance of affirming the people of Israel in the land of Israel and in their identity in God.
To this end 49:22trust primarily uses mass media, television programmes and documentaries, this website and e-mail communication. In this way, though by no means exclusively, the aim is to present matters of great importance in a manner that is cost effective, accessible and informative.
Project: Bnei Israel
Aim: affirming the Jewish identity and encouraging Aliyah
Bnei Israel (literally 'Son or Israel' or 'Children of Israel') is a 49:22trust run orphans Aliyah programme which aims to be the most comprehensive of its kind ever implemented in the Former Soviet Union. Bnei Israel is dedicated to locating lost Jewish orphaned children, providing them with a safe nurturing living environment at a unique Jewish orphanage in Moscow, educating them about their Jewish heritage and providing the necessary services so that they may live a healthy and productive life. The programme gives the children oppertunity to study in Israel on a visa and experience life in Israeli society, before assisting any of them who choose to make Aliyah once they are eighteen.
Project: Am YIsrael Echad
Aim: affirming the Jewish identity
Am Yisrael Echad provides informal education for new immigrants and other Israeli children. Using innovative programmes both in and out of school Am Yisrael Echad works with the Ministry of Education in areas which focus on strengthening the students’ sense of Jewish identity. This project, whilst relatively new to 49:22 trust, holds great potential and falls well within our brief to help Jews back to their roots and not to settle for a secular lifestyle.

Project: Christian Friends of Israeli Communities, CFOIC
Aim: affirming the Jewish identity
The focus of CFOIC is to link new Jewish Communities in Israel with Christian churches and individuals throughout the world and this with a clear belief system respecting Judaism and Christianity. These communities are located in Judea and Samaria. Projects supported by 49:22trust focus primarily around the rehabilitation centres for both boys at Derech Shalem Farm and for girls in the caring orthodox community of Dolev. This builds their identity as Jews in the Jewish homeland.
Project: People WHO Care
Aim: affirming the Jewish identity and encouraging Aliyah
Having helped establish People Who Care to become a mature Jewish ministry, 49:22trust now seeks to help fund the areas directly relating to Aliyah. Using a network of representatives and working closely with their local Jewish Communities People Who Care have a very strong influence in assisting Aliyah in most regions of the Ukraine.
Project: The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and Keren Hayesod (KH)
Aim: affirming the Jewish identity and encouraging Aliyah
JAFI/KH are undoubtedly the prime organisations though which Aliyah is accomplished. With offices all over the world they have been the instrument God has used to help repatriate the majority of those who have made Aliyah over the last 100 years. They currently organize the flights and the grants to pay for the tickets - which are free for Jews from the former Soviet Union; as they are for Ethiopian Jews, the tribe of Bnei Menashe and many others. 49:22trust seeks to compliment and will only support JA projects where they do not have direct funding. Assistance with special programmes, concerts, youth work and Ulpan classes being amongst them. One additional special project was to help a newly arrived group of immigrants from India, members of the tribe of Bnei Menashe.
Many JAFI Ulpan classes in Ukraine use 49:22 trust's Scripture Booklets as a teaching aide and value the Hebrew-Russian-English parallel text. Without doubt, the Scriptures are the strongest material in the entire educational armory as the Word of God has power.

Project: Shavei Israel
Aim: affirming the Jewish identity and encouraging Aliyah
Shavei Israel means literally ‘Israel returns’. The organisation was founded by Michael Freund in 2004. They support and assist those members of the extended Jewish family around the world who wish to renew their link with the people and land of Israel. This involves researching, locating and reaching out to Jews in the Diaspora, the lost tribes of Israel, and others who have lost contact with their Jewish roots. Shavei Israel then supports, guides and provides assistance for the personal journeys of individuals without use of force or coercion. 49:22 trust has supported the lost Bnei Menashe tribe through Shavei Israel.

Project: Local Jewish Community Projects
Aim: affirming the Jewish identity and encouraging Aliyah
There are many local organizations dedicated to the revival of Jewish Life in the former Soviet Union and whereas 49:22trust lauds this, only projects which more directly encompass the potential for this Jewish-root-awakening to include the subject of Aliyah are considered for grants. One such grant was made recently to the Vinnitsa Youth Puppet Theatre to develop the ‘We teach Bible’ programme. Assistance has also been given to many smaller projects including holocaust survivors and disabled children.
Additionally, 49:22 trust’s Scripture Booklets are used by many local Jewish Community representatives.
