Towards the big picture

What Aliyah and Israel’s Restoration has to do with revival for the world?

The Chosen People

God did not choose those we ethnically refer to as Jews because of a partisan spirit or dislike for the other ethnic block: the non-Jews, the Gentiles, the nations. The Jewish people and the Nation of Israel were chosen in order that the glory of God may be known amongst all of the nations of the world. Consequently, as Gentiles, we are not second class citizens in the purposes of God, far from it.

“How odd of God to chose the Jews. But odder still are those who choose the Jewish God and hate the Jew.”

Why Antisemitism?

Simply stated, antisemitism is anti-salvation. God, in his mercy, who desires all mankind to know Him, is vehemently opposed by all the forces of evil. Since God’s salvation is ministered through the Jews, evil seeks to destroy the people of Israel and the nation. Historically, this fact is well attested by the persecution, pogroms and genocides perpetrated against the Chosen People over the centuries. In seeking the annihilation of the Jewish People, evil attempts to mock the salvation which God Himself has created – through the Jews, in Messiah – and to rob the world of His salvation-blessing in its full measure, the kingdom of God, which He promises to accomplish by a Jewish restoration.

Why Aliyah?

Aliyah means ascent. It is the physical return of Jews to the ancient and biblical homeland and is a pre-requisite of their spiritual return. The people, nation and land are inextricably bound in a covenant relationship with God. This is about the kingdom of God on earth and it is for the honour of God’s name that such a return takes place, since blessings to the nations follow the restoration of the people of Israel.

“We call upon the Jewish people throughout the Diaspora to unite with us in our homeland by making Aliyah, by building the land, and by taking part in the momentous undertaking of the redemption of the Jewish people, which has been the dream of generations”. May 14th 1948, David Ben Gurion

The gathering of the exiles of Israel, the rebirth of the State of Israel and the continued Aliyah of the Jewish people is a miraculous story. It is without precedent in world history and would be unbelievable but for the fact that Israel is real and exists today.

Millions of Jewish people from the four corners of the world, from over 140 countries have gathered and are being successfully absorbed. They are the people, the human building blocks of the nation, the re-established and flourishing State of Israel.

The scriptures foretold the re-gathering and restoration of Israel, the divine plan coming to fruition. See the Scriptures listed in these pages for many of these prophecies.

“I will plant her for myself in the land; I will show my love to the one I called 'Not my loved one.'
I will say to those called 'Not my people, ' 'You are my people'; and they will say, 'You are my God'.”

Hosea 2:23
